ONE Championship is heading to China next month for an event at the Guangzhou International Sports Arena.
According to the recent press release, ONE: "Dynasty of Champions" on June 20 will feature some of the best Chinese and international fighters as they compete to prove themselves inside the ONE cage.
From one Championship CEO Victor Cui:
"Our last show in Beijing was sold out and such a huge success with tremendous support from the Chinese fans. We put on an absolute classic with an unforgettable main event that got fans up on the edge of their seats. This time, we are even more excited to be back in China to do it all over again. Join us as we bring our world-class event to Guangzhou for the very first time."
This will be the second ONE: "Dynasty of Champions" card to take place in China following on from an event in Beijing last December which was headlined by a fight between top Chinese bantamweights Ya Sadong and Xian Ji and featured four man tournaments in two divisions.
ONE Championship is aiming to put on 10 events in China this year and Cui sees it as an exciting market with plenty of potential for growth.
"Mixed martial arts is the fastest growing sport in the world as well as in China. As such, we have seen the rise of a lot talented Chinese fighters in the past few years. It makes perfect sense for Asia’s largest MMA promotion to penetrate the largest country in Asia and tap into the potential of the world’s largest population."
