China LotSynergy Holdings Ltd, a provider of technology and services for mainland China’s lottery market, says it has launched a Cambodia National Sports Lottery business in the southeast Asian country.
The project – for a telephone sales system, betting terminals and lottery games – is a partnership between a China LotSynergy wholly owned unit called Ace Metro Ltd and Cambodia’s National Sport Lottery Company Ltd.
China LotSynergy said in a filing to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on Tuesday that what it called the National Sports Lottery “hotline transaction system project” is the only such sports lottery scheme authorised by the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia.
It added that the system would support “upwards” of 10,000 sales terminals, online transactions for over 10 million player accounts, and “simultaneous operation of hundreds of different game types”.
Under the deal, Ace Metro will itself install approximately 7,000 betting terminals across Cambodia, which China LotSynergy said would create Cambodia’s largest lottery project by the number of points-of-sale.
According to the document, Ace Metro and National Sport Lottery Co have already jointly developed ‘40 pick 6’ and ‘4D’ lottery games featuring what it described as “high payout ratios” and “interesting game play” suitable for the Cambodia market.
“In the future, according to market developments, the two parties will develop more games, such as single match and high frequency games, and utilise mobile and Internet channels to further expand the lottery market,” said China LotSynergy.
It added: “Management believes that the group, as an important participant in the China lottery industry, has earned the full trust of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia and National Sport Lottery Company Ltd.”
The technology provider said in a filing on May 14 that another unit, called Guangzhou Lottnal Terminal Company Ltd, had won bids to supply China sports lottery terminals to the mainland China provinces of Shaanxi and Hunan.
The group said it has now expanded its sports lottery terminal business to cover 11 provinces and regions across China. “So far this year, the group has secured an approximately 32 percent share of the total purchase volume of sports lottery terminals nationwide, and has become the top sports lottery terminal supplier ,” it added.
China LotSynergy posted a net profit of HKD100 million (US$12.9 million) for full-year 2014, up 12.9 percent over the previous year.
