The China International Sporting Goods Show (CISGS), one of the world's main trade shows for sports equipment and clothing, opened Friday in the southern Chinese city of Fuzhou.
More than 1,100 enterprises from home and abroad, including global sporting equipment giants Adidas as well as leading Chinese brands Li-Ning and Anta, will be exhibiting their products at the show.
"The entire Fuzhou Strait International Conference and Exhibition Center, covering over 110,000 sqm, has been completely booked," said Li Hua, head of the China Sporting Goods Federation. "The CISGS 2015 is set to reach historic new heights in the number of booths and enterprises."
With hundreds of buyers from Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Europe pouring into the annual show, Chinese companies are looking to this event to boost their sales and promote their brands globally.
"I hope there will be more orders following years of weak sales," said Yu Rongjun, manager of a ball manufacturing company from east China's Jiangsu Province.
The CISGS, which was inaugurated in 1993, will run through Monday.
