On account of information revealed by multiple Italian media “Wahaha Group decided to purchase AC Milan”, Zong Qinghou, billionaire president of Chinese drinks maker, Wahaha Group, clarified on Sina Weibo account this morning that, Wahaha haven’t made any contact with AC Milan.
Yesterday, news from an Italian media reveled that, Zong Qinghou, president of Wahaha Group decided to purchase up to 75% stakes of Italian soccer giants AC Milan within 3 years.
The news triggered a heated discussion. Nevertheless, Zong Qinghou updated his own Weibo and knocked back the rumor this morning. Zong Qinghou wrote on his Weibo, “Yesterday, reports from multiple media, spread across the Internet, which said that Wahaha plans to acquire AC Milan Football Club. However, at the moment, we have no intention of getting into soccer sphere. Furthermore, we haven’t made any contact with AC Milan.”
Zong Qinghou especially pointed out on his Weibo, “The information is a ‘sheer fiction’. Even if we want to purchase a football club, we would only consider a domestic team.”
AC Milan is one of famous clubs in Serie A, but suffers a decline on its performance recent years. In last season, it ranked the eighth in league matches, while at the moment, it ranked eight only after 28 rounds. Before then, repeated information about its acquisition has been reported.
