On August 22, the Development Report of National Pilot Base of Sport Industry (2017–2018) was released at a conference in Chengdu.
National Pilot Bases of Sports have received much attention from the government, and are expected to help the sports industry grow larger throughout the country by serving as pilot or demonstration projects.
Following the publishing of the PRC’s State Council opinion piece on how to accelerate the growth of the sports industry and boost sports-related consumption in China, the General Administration of Sport of China have commissioned research agencies to conduct specialized research on the development of National Pilot Bases of Sports. The findings were compiled into a blue book, which will be known as the Development Report of National Pilot Base of Sport Industry.
The first blue book was published last year, and this year’s edition has followed the same guidelines but has been innovated in certain areas. Based on facts and using statistics to support the argument, the report attempts to present a comprehensive landscape of the National Pilot Bases of Sports, and explore the paths to grow these bases in a sustainable way.
According to the report, the National Pilot Bases of Sports have already contributed greatly to the economy. In 2017, the bases generated an additional RMB 122.6 billion, and performed much better compared to the overall sports industry.
The report points out that the National Pilot Bases of Sports will play an important role in helping the sports industry find new paths of growth, accumulate new experiences and provide new examples.
