Interview with Andreas Zagklis: to keep popularization of basketball with all-round strategy

On June 30th, the organizers of the 2019 Under Armour Basketball Asia Tour held a grand event at the Baoshan Sports Center, during which Under Armour announced that it had become the official strategic partner and exclusive sports apparel supplier to China’s national 3×3 basketball teams. This is the first Chinese national team to build a partnership with the American footwear, sports and casual apparel manufacturers.
Present at the event were Li Yingyun and Zhang Zhiting, who together with Jiang Jiayin and Wu Di make up the Chinese women’s national 3×3 basketball team who won all 7 matches to bring home Chinese basketball’s first FIBA-organized world championship in the Netherlands last week. NBA stars Stephen Curry, Joel Embiid, Mohamed Bamba and Dennis Smith Jr. also showed up and put on a show demonstrating their unbelievable basketball skills.
3×3 basketball will be an official sport at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, and China’s national men’s and women’s teams are expected to compete for medals on the international stage. The most recent championship will only serve to strengthen their confidence and further increase the influence of the already popular sport in China. Under Armour’s decision to partner with China’s national 3×3 basketball teams will no doubt make the brand better known among Chinese basketball fans.
