Shanghai SIPG FC have signed a strategic partnership with Vici Gaming eSports Club at a signing ceremony organised by both parties at Vici Gaming’s office in Shanghai.
The strategic partnership will see the two parties start a collaboration around the King of Glory eSports game as a first step but will also try to create more synergies between eSports and traditional sports.
A partner of Vici Gaming, Shanghai Fuming Wenhe Internet Technology Co., Ltd., will also help Shanghai SIPG enhance SIPG’s fan base and increase the number of SIPG football fans among school students and eSports fans.
Vici Gaming was established in 2012 by DING Jun. At the end of 2018, VG returned to compete in the King Pro League, the highest professional league of King of Glory.
DING Jun said at the ceremony that they hope to learn from Shanghai SIPG about traditional sports management and operation models.
With this partnership, Shanghai SIPG and VG plan to start from mobile eSports, explore collaborations between new and traditional sports and the integrated development of sports and cultural industries.
