The German Bundesliga, one of the major European football leagues and PP Sports recently organized a Chinese media visit to Germany and Bundesliga clubs.
The visit was aimed at allowing Chinese media to learn more about the Bundesliga and its football culture and in turn increase the knowledge and awareness of the Bundesliga in China via their media reports.
Journalists from a few major sports business media companies such as Yutang Sports and Lanxiong Sports, and the national news agency Xinhua visited the Bundesliga clubs Hertha Berlin, VfL Wolfsburg and Borussia Monchengladbach, after receiving a welcome dinner and an introductory presentation about the Bundesliga from the Bundesliga International GmbH.
The clubs provided the Chinese media groups with tours around their stadiums, facilities and youth training bases, as well as precious interview opportunities with the management of the clubs and the opportunity to watch two home football games.
This was the third overseas media visit that Bundesliga International has organized this year, according to a Bundesliga International executive. The other two media visits were organized for an Indian and a South Asian media delegation respectively.
The Bundesliga reached a 5-year TV and online media rights partnership in Mainland China with PP Sports in July 2018. The media visit is an effort on both sides to promote the league in China.
