Kobe Bryant has been appointed as a global ambassador for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019, FIBA announced today, October 30.
Former NBA star, Kobe Bryant, is massively popular in China and still enjoys pretty much the same level of popularity now in China even though he has retired. According to FIBA, he is the most followed NBA player on Chinese social media, with around 6.84 million followers.
Yao Ming was previously announced as an ambassador for the World Cup 2019 so now there will be two globally renowned ambassadors for this top level basketball event in China.
As an ambassador, Kobe will help promote the event and take part in activities on the Road to China 2019 and other activities during the World Cup.
