English Premier League club Liverpool FC have renewed their partnership with automobile brand Morris Garages China (MG China) for the 2018/19 season. MG China will continue as an Official Chinese Partner of Liverpool FC.
The two parties first partnered with each other in 2016.
Under the renewal, MG China will provide a series of benefits for Liverpool football fans. For example, MG China will invite youth training coaches from Liverpool FC to visit Shanghai’s Formula 1 venue, and will offer professional racing car and football clinics for fans. The brand will also select fans interacting via the WeChat and Weibo accounts of MG China to give out Liverpool shirts signed by Liverpool football stars. MG China will also launch a special Liverpool edition of their SUV “MG HS” which is nicknamed the ‘Hormone SUV”.
Originally a British automobile brand, MG was acquired by Nanjing Automobile (Group) Corporation in 2006 and later became a brand of SAIC MOTOR after Nanjing Automobile was acquired by SAIC MOTOR in 2007. Its Chinese manufacturing base is in Nanjing.
