Jinjiang, a county-level city in China’s Fujian Province will finish construction of the city’s first football park in the summer of 2019.
The park will be located near Lingyuan street with the total size of 87,000 square meters. It will contain 13,000 square-meters of football venues and facilities including an international-standard football stadium, one 11 a-side football training pitch, two 7 a-side football training pitches and four 5 a-side football training pitches. In addition, there will be a rock climbing area, walking routes, public fitness exercise areas and 500 parking lots.
The park will not only provide a sporting and refreshing space for the local residents, but will also host major international events organized in Jinjiang.
Currently the park is under construction and is expected to be finished in the summer of 2019.
Jinjiang has won the rights to host the Gymnasiade 2020 and the rights to host four continuous editions of the FISU University World Cup from 2019 to 2025. It will also host the 2018, 2020, 2022 and 2024 Asian University Football Championship (AUSF Football Cup).
Jinjiang is famous as the place where many Chinese sporting goods brands are born. Now after obtaining the hosting rights to the International School Sport Federation and FISU events, it seems that the city is hoping to enhance its presence in the sports events world too. The construction of this football park can clearly contribute to this goal.
