Hong Kong Airlines to sponsor Hong Kong Cup Dragon Boat Race

Hong Kong Airlines will title sponsor the Hong Kong Cup dragon boat race to be held during the Hong Kong Dragon Boat Carnival on the Central Harbourfront area fromJune 22 to 24. 

The Hong Kong Dragon Boat Carnival is organized each year in Hong Kong featuring  traditional dragon boat culture and dragon boat competitions, and offering food, beverages and recreational opportunities. 

The winning team in the Hong Kong Airlines Hong Kong Cup will receive international long-distance round-trip flight tickets sponsored by the airline to any popular destination such as Auckland, Los Angeles, San Francisco or Vancouver. The second placed team will get flight tickets to Asian popular destinations such as Tokyo, Seoul, Bangkok or Manila. 

The airline will also partner with Discover Hong Kong to give out food and beer coupons to visitors. Any passenger, who holds a foreign travel document and checks in for a Hong Kong Airlines flight to Hong Kong will be presented with the coupons in advance. During the carnival, visitors can redeem this coupons for food and beer at the venue’s designated tourist desk by showing their travel documents and coupons. 

Hong Kong Airlines Chief Brand Officer Liu Jiang says that “as a company based in Hong Kong, the competition fits well with their brand genes -- being both international and having local characteristics.”
