On November 10th,WTA published the World Rank, and Li Na was removed off this
list, which also means the era of Li Na formally comes to an end.
Undoubtedly, as a tennis player who won two slams, Li Na is the most successful tennis player not only in China, but also in the Asia. She ranked the second place in the ATP World Rank after winning the title in 2014 Australia Open.
However, as her retirement in September, there is a large vacancy left by her which could not be filled for years. We have to say goodbye to a charming, independent hero in tennis. The tennis matches in China would lose the guarantee of the box office. But if you took it optimistically, although there is no one as good as Li Na at present, we still have many players in top 100.
There are 5 of the Chinese female players in top100.Pengshuai and Zhengjie Made semi-final in the single of slam before, and they won the title in double also. Additionally, Xu shilin, who won the gold metal in the Youth Olympic and Zhulin ,the girl who played excellent tennis in the qualification of US Open are the future of Chinese tennis.
Moreover, as the environment improving, young players in China have the access to the big matches, such as China Open and Shanghai Masters. On the other hand, the training pattern has changed gradually, the club and family-based pattern start dominating instead of Nation-sponsored system.
For those reasons, we are supposed to be confident with China tennis. Only we follow that ,we would have more and more talented players in the future.
