Geely Auto renews contract with Sun Yang

The Chinese automobile manufacturer Geely Auto has announced that they have renewed their contract with Chinese swimming star, Sun Yang, as the brand’s ambassador. 

As Geely’s press released disclosed, the first partnership between the brand and Sun was formed in 2015. Geely believes that Sun’s spirit of pursuing better performance is in accordance with the brand’s image of continuous improvement in its products’ quality, which encouraged the brand to sign this renewal with the popular swimming star. 

Geely is a Chinese multinational automotive manufacturing company headquartered in Hangzhou, Zhejiang. It sells passenger vehicles under Geely Auto, Lotus, Lynk & Co, PROTON, and Volvo brands and commercial vehicles under the London EV Company and Yuan Cheng Auto brands. 

In recent years, the brand has been striving to become a veteran player in sports marketing. Apart from signing up with Sun Yang, Geely has shown up in sports events, such as the National Games of China, marathon races and racing events. 

Sun Yang is a Chinese Olympic and world-record holding swimmer. In 2012, he became the first Chinese man to win an Olympic gold medal in swimming and is the first male swimmer in history to earn Olympic and World Championship gold medals at every freestyle distance from 200 meters to 1500 meters.
