SPORTACCORD confirms Istanbul as Host City for 2025 Convention

The commemoration of British football club West Bromwich Albion’s first visit to China and the signing ceremony between Palm Foundation and the China Children and Teenagers' Fund have been hold in British Embassy in Beijing on 23th March. Wu Yuxiao, VP and Board Member of Palm Group,Director-General of Palm Foundation, Simon King, Chief Commercial Officer of West Bromwich Albion FC, Xu xu, Deputy Secretary General of The China Children and Teenagers' Fund all attended the event.
Wu Yuxiao, VP and Board Member of Palm Group,Director-General of Palm Foundation first delivered a welcome speech for all the distinguished guests from afar, and also hope to enhance exchanges and cooperation to make development together.
Simon King said that the source of football between China and the UK could date back to 40 years ago. In 1978, West Bromwich Albion football club has been to China and played games with Chinese football team in Beijing, Shanghai,Guangzhou, and HongKong, which attracted about 300 thousand people watching the games. It is West Bromwich Albion football club who brought british football culture to China and to be the first professional British club to visit New China.
Alistair Robertson and Liu Lifu, who are players experienced matches in 1978, also shared their meaning feelings with us. They are both humorous and talkative. The shirts with their signatures will be collected in World Football Collection.
During the event,Wu Yuxiao and Xu xu inaugurated the project “realize your football dream”. The project was to improve the construction of football stadiums in poor areas, football equipment are also included, to help more Chinese children to realize their “football dream”.
The China Children and Teenagers' Fund, which is the first national public-raising foundation after new China, has been devoted to Children and Teenagers causes. In 1989, it set The Spring Bud Project with All China Women Federation to help finance and education in poor areas. So far, the project has been helped girls over 3,570,000, built 1732 schools, trained 5,260,000 girls technically and given out 2,030,000 handbooks.
Stephen Ellison, who was the last to deliver a speech, claimed that the traditional friendship between China and British was quite profound and looking forward to cooperate more deeply as to football culture. The cooperation with The China Children and Teenagers' Fund is bound to make more benefits for the football cultural exchanges and causes.
