The next China Open (Snooker), expected to be held in Beijing for the 14th consecutive year on April 2 to 8, 2018, will change its current organizer and promoter from Beijing-based InterSports Co. Ltd, to Beijing Beijing Foriseland Tourism Culture Development Co. Ltd.
At the same time, the tournaments will be moved from its 12-year home stadium at the Beijing University Students Gymnasium, Haidian District. Although the new location has not been disclosed as of now, some news reports say that it will be within the Fifth Ring Road.
The new organizer and promoter is also planning to dramatically increase the current champion prize money of 85,000 pounds, since that of the China Championship, World Open, International Championship and Shanghai Masters have already reached 150,000 pounds this season.
The China Open is a professional snooker tournament that began in 1997 and is now the last ranking event before the World Championship.
