SPORTACCORD 2024 INSIGHTS: Sport’s Perfect Storm

November 12: Tencent Sports has become the exclusive internet partner and media sponsor of the Chinese Skating Association (CSA).
Under their agreement, Tencent will acquire the internet rights to some CSA coaches and players in international events, business development rights to licensed merchandise, along with activity organization opportunities.
The signing ceremony was also attended by the CSA Secretary-General Li Jingrui, Xu Shaolian, Director of Tencent Sports Agency Center and Jia Wenxiu, Director of Tencent Sports Editorial Center.
As Li Yan, the CSA Chairperson and Head Coach of Chinese national short track speed skating team, said, “We are really happy to reach an official deal after a long-term tie with Tencent. The partnership is expected to create a better environment for the sport as well as enable more people to understand ice sports.”
By the end of October, CCTV 5, Tencent and zhibo.tv purchased the media rights to the China Basketball Association.
