November 6: Wisdom Sports has signed a strategic partnership with the local government of Chongming District in Shanghai City.
The two sides are poised to establish an international marathon town in China. Under their agreement, Chongming will start with Lvhua Town as a pilot center, making road running central to its sports strategy, along with other sports like water sports and cycling.
According to their plan, Lvhua is expected to become a national road running destination with a friendly environment, integrated industries, developed economy and social atmosphere.
In May, China launched a plan to promote the development of sports towns in the country. Later, a detailed list of 96 pilot locations was released including Lvhua Town.
The signing ceremony was attended by Duan Shijie, President of the Chinese Athletic Association, Tang Hailong, Secretary of Chongming Party Committee and other local officers.
Wisdom Sports revealed a 28.9% income growth in event operations to 445 million yuan since 2016, which was mostly gained from businesses of mass-participating events, marathons and the commercial partnership with the NBL.
