SPORTACCORD 2024 INSIGHTS: Sport’s Perfect Storm
23 May 2024 14:34
The Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region has recently released a plan to reform its soccer association to separate from the administration of local sports bureau.
The plan aims to change the management model of local football organizations, optimizing leadership positions in the Inner Mongolia football governing body.
As part of the plan, the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Football Management Center will be dissolved at the appropriate time while the local football association will set up its own Communist Party organization, under the leadership of the Autonomous Region Sports Bureau.
This reform has enabled the local football association to operate independently and have rights to make its own decisions on internal departments establishing, work planning, financial, personnel and salary management and international exchanges.
In August 2015, the Chinese Football Association (CFA) announced its separation from the General Administration of Sports. After that, Chinese local football associations also began similar reform plans.
The CFA said that 36 of its 44 local football association members have finished their first-stage reform plans while the other 8 are speeding up progress in their reform programs.
