Future of Sport: A Global Sports Week x Viva Technology Collaboration, Will Open in June 14

Today, Laureus World Sports Awards 2015 announced its list of potential winners in Shanghai. Chinese former tennis athlete Li Na is nominated for the Best Female Athlete, along with some other well-known athletes such as Serena Williams. Some famous male athletes nominated include Rory Mcilroy, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Novak Djokovic. The final result will be revealed on 15th April in Shanghai.
Chinese athletes and organizations won the prize for just three times: Yao Ming, Liu Xiang, and Beijing Olympic Games Chinese team.
Laureus World Sports Awards is the most prestigious prize in the world of sport. One Chinese athlete, Deng Yaping, works as an athlete judge for the award.
In the mean time, The Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games Bid Committee announced Yao Ming and five other athletes as promotion ambassadors for Beijing’s Winter Olympic bid.
Yao Ming, the eight-time NBA All-Star, represented China in 2000, 2004 and 2008 Olympics. Last year he was selected as one of the ambassadors for Nanjing Youth Olympic Games.
"It's an honor to play a part in Beijing's bidding, and I hope we can win the bid eventually," he said.
The other five ambassadors are Paralympic star Hou Bin, former figure skating world champions Shen Xue and Zhao Hongbo, Olympic champion speed skater Zhang Hong, and Olympic freestyle skiing silver medalist Li Nina.
