September 18: China Sports Media (CSM) has acquired new media rights to the 2017 EAFF E-1 Football Championship throughout Chinese mainland.
At the same time, the Chinese sports media company is also looking to maximize the commercial value of the 2017 event via providing services for the official broadcasters as well as facilitating sponsorships of the event.
The 2017 tournaments, expected to run from December 8 to 12 in Japan, will be the 7th edition football championship for East Asia. As an international football competition in East Asia, this year’s final event will feature Japan, South Korea, North Korea and China. The competition between women's national teams will be held alongside the men's competition.
As of now, CSM has included the Chinese Super League, Team China series, the Asian Football Confederation competitions, the CFA Cup and the CFA Super Cup into its soccer media rights portfolio.
