September 14: China Sports Daily has reported that China’s General Administration of Sport (CGAS) has set 18 new national standards for sports areas, which will be published by the Standardization Administration of the People’s Republic of China soon. Most notably, there has never been this many standards set for sports at one time in the past.
According to the list disclosed by China Sports Daily, the 18 new standards cover a wide range of aspects in sports, such as sports facilities, coaching and the fitness industry, even covering professional sports, traditional and mass sports.
These new standards will reportedly go into effect in April 2018, after which the CGAS will complete the national standards system in sports areas in order to support the overall development of China’s National Fitness Strategy and sports industry.
