The program for the 2022 Winter Olympics is expected to be finalized in June 2018, revealed Tong Lixin, director of the sports department of the organizing committee at the World Winter Sports Expo 2017 in Beijing.
According to Tong, the program for the Beijing Games will be quite similar to that of the 2018 Winter Olympics to be held in Pyeongchang, which will feature 102 events in 7 sports (15 disciplines).
Shougang Industrial Park has joined the originally planned 5 venues in the Beijing Cluster to become the home of big air skateboarding for the Beijing 2022 Olympics. Other projects in Yanqing and Zhangjiakou Clusters are also going smoothly.
The organizing committee has also made plans to recruit experienced foreign experts for the Beijing Games.
Beijing 2022 is a multi-sport event that will take place in Beijing and surrounding towns in neighboring Hebei province from the 4th to 20th of February 2022. It will become the third consecutive Olympic Games held in East Asia, after Pyeongchang 2018 and Tokyo 2020.
