In a soccer match, yesterday between Shenzhen FC and Wuhan Zall FC at Shenzhen Sports Center, artificial intelligence technology was used in the stadium for the first time. Around 60 robots called “Sanbots” were unveiled, which delivered groundbreaking experiences for the fans.
According to Sina, it was the first time that artificial intelligence was rolled out at a soccer match in China. These Sanbots were presented by Shenzhen Qihan Technology Co. Ltd., an AI company focusing on research and development of robots.
During the game, Sanbots played various roles in the stadium, greeting fans at the entrances and introducing them to the rules of the game in the designated game zone inside the stadium. They even acted as the cheerleaders at half time in the match, coming onto the pitch and dancing with the music, which triggered highly enthusiastic cheers from the crowd.
