The number of aggregate viewers reached amazing 142 million, even exceeds the number of the final of 2014 Australian Open, which Li Na won the champion in.” The aggregate viewers are the viewers who watched the match on TV, no matter how long they watched.
China National Team’s 3 straight victories attract more attention. The ratings are 4.16%, the market share reached 11.81%, more than 75 million people watched the match completely. The ratings of three group matches are 2.32%, 2.03%, and 3.19% respectively.
4.16%, according to Jiang Heping,is extremely high in the live sports games, while most of other programmes on CCTV-5 are below 1%. The primetime TV shows on CCTV-1 are among 1.18-1.2%, the opening game of 2014 FIFA World Cup was 1.32%, the Final was 5.59% on CCTV-5+CCTV-1, 4.38% on the CCTV-5 only.
Jiang Helping said that the top ratings of China-Australia were 7.2%, which means nearly 100 million people watched the match,the aggregate viewer were 142 million. It is higher than all the finals of Li Na in the grand slams.The ratings on the Finals of 2011 French Open, 2013 and 2014 Australian Open are 2.75%, 3.34% and 2.75%. China National soccer Team was even on the CCTV-News, although the China-Australia is one hour later than the group matches, is not over when the CCTV-News is on, CCTV-News reported the score of the 1st half.
Jiang Heping said,“ CCTV-5 would focus more on China soccer in 2015, China National Team would play in the qualification matches for Rio Olympic Games and 2018 FIFA World Cup, and all of the matches would be on CCTV-5.”
