SPORTACCORD 2024 INSIGHTS: Sport’s Perfect Storm

Wanda Sports China and Banana Sports have officially announced a strategic co-operation and the two companies will work on a deeper integration regarding content development and the promotion of sports events.
Wanda Sports stated that this is an attempt to connect quality sports event resources with innovative content production platform.
Since its establishment, Wanda Sports had entered into partnerships with international sports organizations such as FIFA, FIBA, IIHF, BWF etc. The company mainly cultivates upstream core resources of the sports industry and currently operates many world class sports events including IRONMAN 70.3 China, the “China Cup” International Football Tournament, the UCI Guangxi Tour of Union among others.
Banana Sports is a subsidiary company of Shanghai Project Banana Co.,Ltd. founded by Sephirex (Wang Sicong), whose father is Wanda Group’s Chairman Wang Jianlin. Its business area involves sports event operation, video production, athletes brokerage and related activities. Banana Sports launched reality shows about sports events during the 2016 Olympic Games and UEFA Euro 2016, and it will launch its own ice-snow events and street dance events in 2017.
