Beijing Marathon and Shanghai International Marathon most popular in 2016

Recently, Nanfang Metropolis Daily published a rank of marathon races through results gained from public questionnaire surveys. The rank showed that the TOP3 races are Beijing Marathon, Shanghai International Marathon and Xiamen International Marathon. 

The publisher of this list which excludes half marathon and super races emphasized that the list was not made on the basis of events quality, but rather on the popularity among media and runners. 

Beijing Marathon, Shanghai International Marathon and Xiamen International Marathon are the only three marathons in China that belong to IAAF‎ Gold Label events.

Other marathons from the fourth to the tenth position in this list are: Guangzhou Marathon, Shenzhen International Marathon, Chongqing International Marathon, Wuxi Marathon, Hangzhou Marathon, Lanzhou International Marathon and Yellow River Estuary (Dongying) International Marathon.
