The 2017 FIBA 3x3 U18 World Championships will be held from June 28 to July 2 next year at the Global Center, Chengdu, China. There will be 40 teams from 37 countries in this competition. It will be co-hosted by FIBA, the CBA and the Chengdu Government. As the 6th FIBA 3x3 U18 World Championships, this is the first time for it to be held in China. Previous events were held in Italy (2011), Spain (2012), Indonesia (2013), Russia (2014), Hungary (2015) and Kazakhstan (2016).
The Chinese men’s and women’s basketball teams (being host teams) will automatically qualify for this competition. So too will the two defending champions – the France Women’s Basketball team and Qatar Men’s Basketball team.
All the games in the FIBA 3x3 U18 World Championships are going to be held on the same court. 20 women’s basketball teams will compete, the same number as the men’s. In addition, this competition also includes individual sports events (Dunk Contest, Skills Contest and Shoot-out Contest).
