China League One side Tianjin Quanjin FC and Tianjin’s Hedong Sports Bureau yesterday opened a joint youth football training centre at the Hedong Sports Centre.
The new football centre will team up with a Spanish football school for the training and development of teenage players.
Quanjin Group President Shu Yuhui said, “(The purpose of) founding the Hedong Quanjian Youth Football Training Centre is not to provide abundant resources for Quanjian FC. The fundamental objective is to encourage more people into the sport of football and to make them feel the joy that football brings to them.”
“Football is not a sport that depends on introducing top star players with huge salaries to strengthen the team. I think the right approach to football development is to develop quality players through good youth training,” Shu added.
Quanjian Group is a Tianjin-based nutrition products provider. It is also the parent company of China League One side Tianjin Quanjin FC which is coached by former FIFA Ballon d’Or winner Fabio Cannavaro.
