Steffi Graf joins Zhuhai WTA Elite Trophy as image ambassador

Zhuhai WTA Elite Trophy today (20th May) announced legendary tennis star Steffi Graf as its global ambassador.

The appointment will see Graf become the latest presenter for the event following Chinese tennis superstar Li Na.

”I’m honoured to be global image ambassador for Zhuhai WTA Elite Trophy. The combination of Zhuhai City and the high-profile WTA event will definitely contribute to a huge leap in the development of women’s tennis. I received much active feedback for the event and for the players as well.” said Graf.

Zhuhai WTA Elite Trophy last year replaced the smaller WTA Tournament of Champions which was played between2009–14.  The Southeastern Chinese city is hosting the WTA Elite Trophy for the first five years up until 2019.

Steffi Graf, born in 1969, is a former German tennis player. She was ranked World No. 1 by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) for a record total of 377 weeks.
