Swiss tennis player Belinda Bencic has become a new brand ambassador of Huawei Switzerland, a subsidiary of the Chinese smartphone group Huawei Technologies.
A two-year sponsorship agreement has been signed, allowing Huawei to fully exploit the commercial benefits of partnership with one of the rising Swiss tennis players. Among others, the Chinese brand logo will adorn Bencic’s outfits in the future.
Currently, Huawei’s endorsement portfolio also includes footballers Lionel Messi (FC Barcelona) and Robert Lewandowski (Bayern Munich) within the Chinese group.
The new partnership was welcomed by Xiao Haijun, CEO of Huawei Switzerland: "Huawei Switzerland and Belinda Bencic share common values in having progressed very quickly. We are constantly challenging and looking for ways to improve so that we win competitions. We know we are associated with hard work, perseverance and commitment. This has also contributed to the success of Belinda (Bencic). These common values will accompany us and allow us to reach our future dream.”
"Competition is sometimes difficult to live with, but we must always be one step ahead," Bencic stated.
"Huawei is an incredibly inspiring brand that meets enormous daily challenges in terms of technology, design and sustainable product development. Their dream is to be No.1 in the smartphone sector, while I dream of becoming the World No. 1 on the court. We share the same values.” concluded the 19-year-old Swiss player, who has withdrawn from the upcoming French Open due to a back injury.
