Former CCTV commentary Ao Ming has taken up a new position as LeSports’ Vice President and Chief Editor, according to a recent media report.
As shown by several sources, Ao is an experienced sports practitioner who became a commentator on CCTV 5’s Soccer Night in 1995 and was hired as Sina Sports Channel Director in 1999. In 2008, he set up the Chinago Champions League (CCL) and took office as CEO of the grassroots sports league.
At the beginning of this year, Ao officially joined Weisai.com as its Chief Operating Officer after he departed CCL. With his years’ of expertise in sports media, he became the first Content Executive hired by LeSports after its Series B funding.
On March 16th, LeSports announced that former CCTV sports presenter Liu Yuxi had joined the company’s newly-established sports brokerage arm as a partner. Later in April, former Infront China President and CEO Ma Guoli took up his new office at LeSports as Vice Chairman. He had previously established himself at CCTV where he started as a sports reporter and ended up as the head of CCTV’s sports center.
