Letv Sports have agreed a new partnership with Chinese Super League side Guangzhou R&F at an introduction and marketing event attended by Liu Jianhong Chief Content Officer of Letv Sports and Huang Shenghua, Deputy President of Guangzhou R&F.
Under the deal, Letv Sports, the emerging online sports streamer will launch a customized channel for the CSL side on its platforms and both parties will also expand a comprehensive relationship in all football-related content and other fields.
The partnership will mark the latest movement by Letv Sports to enhance its presence with groups of similar sporting interests.
In an effort to engage its large Southeast China fan base who prefer Cantonese sports broadcast commentaries rather than Mandarin, Letv Sports, as a Beijing-based company, has appointed over 10 commentators to present English Premier League, FIFA Women’s World Cup and Copa America in Cantonese.
The online broadcaster has also revealed that they were planning to broadcast more sports events with Cantonese commentaries, including diving competitions and also other sporting competitions such as equestrian events, UEFA Champions League and Serie A.
