China’s National Volleyball Administrative Center (NVAC) announced yesterday (30th March) that 7 companies are qualified to tender for the commercial operation rights to the 2016/2017 Chinese Volleyball League (CVL).
The qualified companies are Beijing-based Infront China, Oceans Sports, iRENA, Yuezhan, COSI (China Olympic Sports Industry), CSE (CCTV Sports and Entertainment) and Shanghai-based SECA World.
According to Xinhua News Agency, the NVAC will hold a public assessment meeting where bidding companies will gather and present their scheme for the CVL on a date to be announced, sometime after April 11th .
As part of the sports-related reform, the governing body of Chinese volleyball last month opened a public tendering for a commercial partner and title sponsor of top tier volleyball in the country.
Ti’ao Power, which bought the broadcasting rights to the Chinese Super League (soccer) for RMB8bn, were reported to be interested but it transpires they are not among the bidders. However, another CMC-backed company, SECA World, is currently contesting for it.
