Shanghai-based China Media Capital (CMC) has announced to take a stake in SoccerWorld, a British operator of sports stadiums.
CMC made sporting headlines last year when it was part of a group that invested $400 million for a stake in Britain’s Manchester City soccer club. CMC’s latest soccer play will see it invest tens of millions of dollars in SoccerWorld.
At the same time, SoccerWorld and Manchester City FC have launched a new regional partnership which will provide aspiring young footballers across China with greater access to state of the art facilities and training programmes. The Club will also visit China this summer to compete in the International Champions Cup as part of their pre-season tour.
SoccerWorld was founded in 1998, and moved into China in 2007 to promote the world’s most popular sport here. In China, SoccerWorld already has more than 20 training centres and 200 pitches where we deliver the highest quality programmes to aspiring footballers.
