Italian Serie A side Juventus Football Club have taken a further step in the ongoing expansion of their digital reach by announcing the launch of an official profile on WeChat, the largest and fastest growing social messaging service in China provided by Chinese internet giant Tencent.
Boasting over 550 million monthly active users in China alone, WeChat’s array of features (text and voice messaging, photo/video sharing and location-based tools) provides the club with a new and exciting way of increasing its daily engagement with Chinese supporters.
To mark the launch, Alvaro Morata recorded an audio voice message to welcome new followers and send his New Year greetings ahead of the national holiday on Monday 8 February.
This move comes after the earlier launch of an official Juventus profile on Sina Weibo, the most popular social network in China, which boasts over 600 million users.
Since stepping into the Chinese digital world in 2011, Juventus have amassed 1.9 million followers across Tencent and Sina Weibo and remain committed to bringing their passionate local fan base closer to the action than ever before.
