The International Boxing Association (AIBA) last Saturday announced the signature of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Ali Sports.
This strategic MOU agreement will see the two world-class entities establish a model for cross-border investments and value increase for all AIBA Boxing competitions.
Established in September 2015, Ali Sports, mostly backed by the Alibaba Group, is devoted to building a base platform for the international community sports economy with a digital marketing model to maximise the value of sporting events. Ali Sports is built around a value chain of 5 pillars: event management, venue commercialization, sports media outlets, gaming and e-commerce.
Through the MOU, Ali Sports intends to promote boxing as part of a healthy lifestyle and encourage more people, including women, to take up regular physical activities and make sport a central part of their personal environment.
As their exclusive partner for the next 20 years, Ali Sports is set to work closely with the AIBA to pursue the development of boxing in all its forms and to ensure that Boxing remains one of the most entertaining and appealing sports the world over.
