Interview with Yiannis Exarchos: to narrate Olympic story in new ways and promote positive values

China’s governing body of cycling and fencing recently announced Beijing Baixiangchun Wine Co. Ltd has reached a partnership with the Chinese national fencing team.
Under the deal, the Beijing wine dealer becomes the exclusive wine provider of the Chinese national fencing team. The French wine brand, Barton & Guestier, which is retailed by Beijing Baixiangchun in China, will be named the official wine of the Chinese international fencing squad.
However, the two sides didn’t reveal the terms of the deal.
According to sources, coaches and players of the Chinese national fencing team will take part in promotional campaigns for their wine partner at the 92nd China Food and Drinks Fair to be held in Chengdu in March.
Rong Rikuan, President at Beijing Baixiangchun, believes wine and fencing share the same spiritual values, which are grace, righteousness, courage, confidence and self-control.
“We thought of fencing first when we were choosing a sport to use for marketing wine.”
