Spanish La Liga football club RCD Espanyol has confirmed that its new majority shareholder, Chinese manufacturing business Rastar Group, has taken on the team’s shirt sponsorship rights for the remainder of the 2015-16 season.
Under the deal, the Chinese Group‘s logo will be seen on the front of the shirts worn by the first team during matches. The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
As usual, the signing of the sponsorship of the first team kit will result in the activation of different advertising assets. On the one hand, there will be the appearance of the advertisement on the front of the first team shirt. The Rastar Group wishes to show different aspects of their company, a leader in the manufacture and distribution of electronic toys and video games plus film and television production.
Mobile gaming application 52tt.com was the first Rastar Group brand to be displayed on the shirts for last Saturday’s game at the Cornella-EI Prat Stadium, which will be changed to other brands of the company or the Rastar Group logo in the following games.
On the other hand, the static advertising support that all the sponsors have, at both the Stadium and at the training facilities, will display the fixed logo of the Rastar Group.
Back in November 2, 2015, China’s Rastar Group said its Hong Kong unit had agreed to buy a 50% plus stake in the Spanish football club for 14.3 million to 17.8 million euros.
