Beijing Winter Sports Management Center, set up by China’s sports governing body, held its inaugural meeting yesterday.
At the meeting, Beijing Sports Bureau inked a strategic partnership deal with Century Star, a local company that focuses on the promotion of winter sports.
The deal will see the company organize 15 professional teams, covering winter sports like curling, snowboarding, figure skating, speed skating, ski jumping, double plate skiing and short track speed skating. Those teams will participate in the 14th Chinese Winter Games and other major annual events.
Their partnership dates back to 1999, when Century Star established the Beijing Figure Skating Team, which was the first local winter sports team.
As of now, with the help of the company, Beijing is seeing the rapid development of winter sports. Under the deal, Century Star believe that they have formed an amazing lineup by selecting 200 outstanding athletes and coaches.
