Le Sports reaches 3-year strategic deal with MLB

China’s Le Sports and Major League Baseball yesterday announced a wide-ranging partnership in which the sports company becomes an official strategic partner of MLB in mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau for three years.

Sina Sports to air MUTV in China

China’s Sina Sports officially announced today (January 7th) that it has secured a long-term partnership with Premier League giants Manchester United FC to bring the club’s MUTV to Mainland China.

Under the deal, which will commence from January 17th, Sina Sports will become the exclusive free streamer of MUTV in Mainland China. It is the first time an English club has launched a 24X7 channel for Chinese supporters.

Ali Sports strikes media partnership with NFL

Ali Sports, the sport unit of China’s leading e-commerce giant Alibaba Group, announced yesterday that it has struck a deal with the American NFL (National Football League) to broadcast the tournament in Mainland China.

Hefei to host 2016 IRONMAN 70.3 triathlon

Wanda Sports Group has signed a cooperation agreement with the Hefei Municipal Government. The announcement came at a press conference held on January 7.

Under the agreement, Hefei, the capital and largest city in Anhui Province, will hold the World Triathlon Corporation’s (WTC) flagship event, IRONMAN 70.3 (1.9km swim + 90km cycle + 21.1km run), this year.

IMG backing new Chinese ski resort

The IMG agency has announced that it is teaming up with Chinese real estate company Zhonghong Holdings to back a new Chinese ski resort in Changbaishan.

Under the strategic partnership deal, IMG has been appointed to provide management services to Changbaishan Powder Paradise, a new winter sports resort focusing on the high end adventure sport of Backcountry Skiing.
