Leading snowboarding tournament Air & Style will hold an official training camp as part of a "strategic co-operative" relationship with the Genting Resort Secret Garden, a proposed venue for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Under the deal, the resort in Chongli County will provide training facilities for Air & Style competitors while also holding various competitions organized by the franchise.
Genting will also partner with Laax, one of the largest ski resorts in Switzerland, to build a "Youth Apartment" complex. It is hoped that it will also become a top training base for Asian skiers and snowboarders.
"Considering its advantageous geographical conditions and world-class snow facilities, we are looking forward to the co-operation with Genting Resort Secret Garden," said Andrew Hourmont, founder of Air & Style and its Chief Executive Officer(CEO) in Europe.
Genting forms part of the main mountain venue cluster at Zhangjiakou, 194 kilometres to the north-west of Beijing. It is set to host slopestyle and halfpipe snowboarding as well as freestyle skiing events during the 2022 Games.
