The Inaugural China-Canada Sports Business Summit took place at the Beijing National Stadium or the Bird's Nest last Friday on November 13. Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE), along with key Canadian corporate partners and top experts in the sports industry, came to Beijing to host the Inaugural Canada-China Sports Business Summit.
The magnificent gathering included City officials from Beijing and Zhangjiakou and executives from Chinese sports marketing companies. Le Sports, Lenovo, Anta, Huawei, Hisense, Huawei, Haier, Aeolus Tire and Beijing Future Advertising were all represented. Also in attendance at the summit were Chen Lu, the first Chinese figure skating Olympics medalist and movie director Ying Da who serves as honorary president of the Beijing Hockey Association.
Attendees shared insights about the development of winter events in China, sports marketing and business cooperation in North America, Chinese enterprises’experience in international investment and overseas partnership and the resources and opportunities that MLSE can provide. Finally, they talked about the possibility of win-win co-operation between football teams, stadium construction, player’s rights and sports’ intellectual property.
