China’s Sina Sports has reached an agreement with International Premier Tennis League (IPTL) for the exclusive digital rights to air the event in the country for the 2015 and 2016 season.
The deal will see Sina Sports become the exclusive new media partner of IPTL in China until the end of 2016 season with the rights to live screen the event as well as to provide Chinese audience with on demand services and match reviews.
“We are excited to provide an enhanced IPTL experience to the Chinese fans this season. SINA Sports emerged as a perfect partner for us because they not only want to highlight the league, but have shown real commitment to providing tennis fans in China with over and above access to the matches. China is a huge market and this is exactly what we were looking for,” said Bhupathi, founder of IPTL.
“Chinese tennis fans wish to gain more access to tennis events, and the partnership with IPTL is a great opportunity to fulfill their wishes”, commented Arthur Wei, head of Sina Sports.
The 2015 competition kicks off on December 2nd in Kobe, Japan while the finals will be played in Singapore from December 18 to 20.
