The Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) announced today a five-year (2015-2019) sponsorship renewal agreement with PEAK, a leading active wear and footwear brand based in Asia, keeping the company as the official performance apparel and shoe partner in the Asia-Pacific Region.
PEAK becomes the exclusive performance apparel and will also serve as an official partner of the WTA China Tennis Festivals. A rapidly growing sportswear company, PEAK’s sponsorship renewal fits with the company’s determination to expand its brand while enhancing China’s growing reputation as a destination for world-class tennis.
“PEAK has been, and will continue to be a key partner for the WTA, as we collaborate to grow the sport in the Asia-Pacific Region,” said Stacey Allaster, Chairman and CEO of the WTA. “Peak’s passion and enthusiasm for world-class tennis, has helped us grow women’s tennis in the region. We’re looking forward to another great five years working with PEAK.”
“We are renewing our agreement with the WTA because it has been a mutually beneficial partnership that has allowed us to extend our brand into tennis and aided the WTA in driving popularity of tennis in Asia,” said Zhihua Xu, Peak CEO. “Aligning ourselves with the WTA will support the mission to build our global brand.”
As part of the agreement, PEAK has the exclusive right to produce and sell co-branded performance apparel and shoes with the WTA. PEAK’s sports and tennis product line continues to grow in its strong partnership with the WTA, as more than 20 players currently wear PEAK apparel.
PEAK is one of the leading active wear and footwear Chinese brands in Asia and is the fastest growing footwear company in the world. The company is based in Quanzhou, Fujian Province of China. In 2011, they branched out to Los Angeles under the name Peak Sports USA. PEAK has home stadium sponsorship with approximately 10 NBA teams every year as well as endorsement arrangements with about 12 NBA players at any given time. Last month, they gave up their partnership with NBA which is partnering with another Chinese brand ANTA now.
