NBA China and Dongfeng Nissan have reached a multi-year partnership deal that makes the Wuhan-based joint venture the official vehicle of NBA China.
The announcement was made by Zhou Xianpeng, Deputy General Manager of Dongfeng Passenger Vehicle Co., Yan Hongbin, Marketing Director of the company, Mark Tatum, NBA Deputy Commissioner and David Shoemaker, CEO of NBA China at a press conference held in Shanghai on October 13.
Dongfeng Nissan will showcase its lineup of vehicles during NBA China's marquee events, including NBA Global Games China. The brand will also bring more NBA players to China and further drive the development of the sport in China.
“NBA cannot develop without the fans’ support and great performances from the players on court. Dongfeng Nissan absolutely understands the importance of passion in the process of building up a brand. We look forward to sharing this great passion with fans in China,” Mr. Zhou said.
“Dongfeng Nissan has a clear understanding of our goal and we also share the same philosophy. That is to bring a great NBA experience to Chinese fans through different events. NBA Global Games China is a perfect platform for us to co-operate and to further promote the development of basketball in China,” David Shoemaker said.
As a partner of NBA Global Games China, Dongfeng Nissan lined up a strong presence for the Hornets-Clippers games last Sunday in Shenzhen and today in Shanghai, with on-court activation and in-arena car displays.
