The Vinpac Group which owns Shanghai Women’s Football Club, yesterday donated 10 million RMB to the Tianjin explosion victims. Meanwhile, Zhao Boyuan, general manager of Shanghai Women’s Football Club announced that the club has applied to the Chinese Football Association for permission to launch a Women’s Asian Club Championship starting either at the end of this year or early next year.
Since the beginning of 2015, Shanghai Women’s Football Club has taken its market-oriented operations on a full scale. In efforts to keep up with other first class clubs in the Chinese Super League concerning team management, it has revamped the infrastructure of its base and also purchased a team bus. Prior to the start of a new season, its players have recently returned from their preseason trip to France, Germany and other great footballing countries.
Zhao revealed that the club is negotiating with relevant sides to build a stadium for itself. “Both Shanghai Football Association and Chinese Football Association are in favor of us inaugurating a Women’s Asian Club Championship. We hope that by hosting more international events, we could develop us into one of Asia’s first class teams.” Zhao said.
