China UnionPay becomes the platinum sponsor of China Open through 2015-2017. Following Shanghai ATP Masters 1000, China Open is another international tennis tournament that China UnionPay partners in a bid to provide high quality payment experience for China UnionPay card holders.
The deal sees China UnionPay become the first official payment sponsor of China Open in history. China UnionPay card (card number starting with 62) holders can enjoy a 10% discount for tickets and souvenirs and attend fans meetings and other activities including Future Masters. Platinum cardholders and diamond cardholders will have more VIP privileges as well as be presented with extra gifts.
China Open was launched in 2004, and is held in Beijing once a year regularly with both men’s and women’s events. In 2009, China Open was upgraded in an overall manner and ranked as one of the world’s top eight (including the four Grand Slam) tennis competitions.
