STATS LLC, the world’s leading sports technology, data and content company, announced it has partnered with Letv Sports, China’s leading online sports rights holders, to bring its revolutionary SportVU player tracking technology to the broadcast of the 2015 International Champions Cup (ICC) matches played in China, July 25-30.
With SportVU, Letv Sports will provide unique player and team attributes live on the pitch via enhanced data graphics for a richer viewing experience.
On-air player tracking statistics including team and player possession stats, player run comparisons (to measure the distances and pace run by individual players), and player heat maps (to illustrate the areas of the pitch where individual players spent most time).
These innovative on-screen graphics will be incorporated into the broadcast of each match from all three venues of the ICC matches in China.
“We’re pleased to partner with Letv Sports and offer a fascinating lineup of unique performance data with SportVU. Chinese soccer fans will gain a deeper understanding of the action with speed profiles, accumulated distances, possession data and coverage maps all in real-time,” said Bill Squadron, executive vice president of strategic partnerships at STATS.
