The United States Tops Skema Publika's First Annual Sport and Soft Power Ranking

On July 7th, the Seamaster 2019 ITTF World Tour SHINHAN Korea Open reached its conclusion with Xu Xin winning the Men’s Singles title by beating Ma Long 4:1, and Chen Meng beating Ding Ning 4:1 to win the Women’s Singles.
In reaching the Men’s Singles Final Ma Long beat Zheng Rongzhi 4:1 in the semifinals, and Xu Xin beat Wang Chuqin 4:2 in the other semifinal.
The two players have played against each other on the international stage many times, with Ma Long taking the upper hand, having won 20 matches against Xu Xin, who has only claimed 8 wins against Ma Long. The last time Xu Xin beat his compatriot Ma Long on the international stage was three years ago. His losing streak seemed set to continue against Ma Long when Xin lost the first game. However, this time he was able to collect himself and won the next 4 games.
To add to his Men’s Singles title, Xu Xin also won the Men’s Doubles with Fan Zhendong, and took the Mixed Doubles runners-up spot with Liu Shiwen.
The Women’s Singles Finals was also contested between two Chinese players. Chen Meng and Ding Ning beat Wang Manyu and Sun Yingsha respectively in the semifinals,. In the final, Chen Meng showed dominance and did not give Ding Ning much of a chance. She also added the Women’s Doubles with Chen Manyu.
